This pattern appeared in a national quilting magazine approximately 10 years ago. I since lost the magazine. It took me quite some time to find just the right fabrics to make this pattern pop. As you look at this quilt note, how the quilter put in quilting that highlighted the patterns in the fabric.

Show #803

MADE BY: Peggie Wormington, Linda Collins International Churn Dash Exchange

QUILTED BY:  John and Karla Rogers

This quilt was made from blocks exchanged with quilters from the US and Australia in 2019. It's so much fun seeing the fabric choices made by others In the exchange group - and also a challenge to lay out the blocks in a pleasing design. Thanks to Linda Collins!

I traced the designs onto the panel fabric, painted the skies with Jacquard fabric paint, and colored the designs with Prisma pencils. My mother did the embroidery. Some of the fabric was from my Dad's shirt. Design by Crabapple Hills Studio.

I picked this quilt design as I wanted to work on improving my half square triangles and sewing sharp points. The pattern is from McCall's Quick Quilts, Aug/Sep 2013, designed by Gerri Robinson. However, there was nothing quick about piecing this quilt.

This was a class using a different technique for paper piecing I hadn't tried before. I had recently taken a class on quilt color theory and decided to pick some bright colored fabrics to try out what I learned. It reminds me of Florida palm trees and bright colors. Linda Ballard, "You Need a 'Rita" pattern.

The quilt top was probably finished around 1999 and is one of my first quilts completed through an Adult Ed. class in Southern California. The Garden Twist pattern was intriguing to me as a fairly new quilter, and I enjoyed the process of learning a new technique.

QUILTED BY:  Colleen Voet

My husband Gary and I went to Winters for lunch, so of course I had to take him to Cloth Carousel. On the wall he saw the sample for a class from the book Strips and Curves and decided I should take the class, so I did. This is the quilt from the class. The hardest part was making the strip set, but after that it was pretty fun. Even the curved piecing wasn't bad. Two years later (or maybe three) I finished the quilt. It's named for him.
